The Centre de santé Saint-Boniface opened in 1999, with an interdisciplinary team working to address the healthcare needs of St. Boniface residents. The Centre has always provided quality services in both English and French.
“Our focus has always been on client service,” explains Linh Tran, Communications Coordinator, “and clients are appreciative of this. We started with a staff of 12, including doctors, nurses, social workers and dieticians, and now we’re up to 70 employees, with a range of specialists. We’re also offering more and more wellness programs to the community, free of charge.”
The Centre celebrated the anniversary on June 6 with a ‘healthy’ picnic in Whittier Park attended by over 200 members of the community.
“It was a way to gather and thank the community that was in keeping with our mission to promote health. There was a race, children’s activities, and a concert. The proceeds from the race were given to the Flavie-Laurent Centre.”
